Important — please read before you buy: The BK55 is a passive speaker pair. There is no built-in amplifier, no Bluetooth and no power lead, so these speakers cannot be connected directly to a TV, computer, phone or a 3.5 mm headphone socket. You need a stereo amplifier or AV receiver with speaker output terminals to drive them (not included). The supplied speaker cable is bare wire and fastens into the binding posts on the rear of each cabinet — full connection steps are further down this page.
- UPGRADED PROFESSIONAL CROSSOVER: Built on the E-Lektron A65 bookshelf speaker, the BK55 uses an upgraded internal crossover made from high-specification components for HiFi-level clarity and more detailed vocals. The optimised crossover point keeps highs, mids and lows cleaner and lowers distortion.
- STRONG BASS FROM A COMPACT CABINET: A 13 cm reinforced paper-cone woofer and dual bass-reflex ports give the BK55 a full, deep low end for its size. Four solid rubber feet damp cabinet vibration so the bass stays tight.
- SILK DOME TWEETER, SMOOTH HIGHS: A 2.5 cm silk dome tweeter with waveguide delivers a smooth, extended and predictable treble response — clear and detailed without harshness.
- HOME HIFI, DESKTOP AND SURROUND: Use the BK55 as a stereo pair, as front or rear surrounds in a home theatre system, or as desktop monitors — driven from your amplifier or AV receiver, which in turn connects to your TV, computer or streamer.
- HANDCRAFTED WOODEN ENCLOSURE: Wood-grain finish that suits any decor, with a removable dust-proof grille. Wall-mount hanging eyes are included, so the pair can sit on a shelf or hang on the wall.
What you need to use these speakers
- A stereo amplifier, AV receiver or stereo system with speaker output terminals — not included. Any amplifier rated to drive 4-ohm speakers will suit.
- These are not powered/active speakers: there is no amplifier, Bluetooth, USB or mains lead inside the cabinet.
- They will not work plugged straight into a TV, PC, phone, or a 3.5 mm / RCA line output.

How to connect the bare-wire speaker cable
- The rear of each speaker has two terminals: red (+) and black (−).
- Loosen the coloured collar on each terminal to expose the opening in the metal post.
- The supplied cable is a bonded pair with one marked conductor (a stripe or a silver strand). Strip roughly 10 mm of insulation from each end and twist the strands together.
- Insert the bare wire into the opening and tighten the collar firmly so the wire is clamped and no stray strands can touch the other terminal.
- Repeat at the amplifier end, keeping the same marked conductor on + at both ends so the pair stays in phase.
